Fade to White

What a difference a month makes in our lovely State of MN. But, that's why we live here -right?

One of the driving (pun intended for you golfers) reasons I chose this topic for my blog was the thought that it would force me to actually get out and play more golf this Fall. Sadly, it was not to be. Most of the shots, including these two, have been taken from the deck of my house. Although we have a great view, it's just not the same as being on the course and playing. I need to make golf and leisure time more of a priority next Summer.

San Diego

Sunday, NOVEMBER 2, 2008, 14:53:

Quick - look out the window. Ever wonder what it would be like to live in San Diego in November?

Feeling somewhat sorry for myself. Yesterday was spent doing yard work and cleaning the garage, getting ready for winter. Part of that process is the inevitable stowing away of the golf clubs. Good thing though. If my clubs were available today I would long ago have abandoned working on my Model Course project for the rare opportunity to play golf in MN in November - let alone in shorts and a t-shirt.

Color Changes

One of my favorite parts of Fall in the Midwest is the changing of colors. This year seems to be especially vibrant. Although a lot of the leaves have have now fallen, here are a few of my favorite shots taken over the past few weeks.

It's Beginning

Note to self - remember to write the password down someplace where you can find it this time!

The geese are becoming more active. Another sign Fall is approaching. This evening just before sunset there were probably 30 to 40 on the 18th fairway. By the time snow flies there will be instances when 300 to 400 will be covering the fairway. Think of walking on St Kates' campus down by the pond in the Fall and the need to choose your path wisely. Now try playing golf when your golf ball comes to rest in what we politely call an "unplayable lie".

Speaking of unplayable lies, here's another unplayable lie by artist Jeff Leedy from Art That Makes you Laugh. I own an Artist's Proof of an earlier version of this piece titled "Just Do It". Check out his website at http://www.artthatmakesyoulaugh.com/

Welcome To My Blog

Hello- and welcome to my blog.

I hope you come back often and share with me the changing of seasons from Summer to Fall to Winter as I see them happening at Eagle Valley Golf Course (EVGC). Who knows, along the way I may even have some reflections on life in general.

See you back here soon.
